From doubts that he would play again to the NFL Draft: Carson Beck believed in himself through the entire journey

For quarterback Carson Beck, he isn’t going into the NFL Combine trying to impress those with flashy quotes or saying the perfect thing. Instead, for the former Miami Hurricane signal caller, it’s about being himself and showing teams who the real Carson Beck is.

“Obviously I just want to be myself in those interviews, let them know who I am, what I stand for and what I can bring to the table,” Beck said.

That mindset for Beck has carried him through the ups and downs throughout his college career, now preparing him for the biggest preparation stage of his football career. Beck has met with multiple teams in Indianapolis, including the Miami Dolphins, which could end up being a fun Miami reunion if the Dolphins take a chance on him in the draft.

“I had a formal with the Dolphins and honestly I thought it went really well,” Beck said when asked if he had met with the Miami organization.

While we are still over a month out from the NFL Draft, the idea of staying in South Florida adds a fun twist to Beck’s draft process. After transferring to Miami from Georgia and leading the Hurricanes to their first national championship appearance in over 20 years, the possibility of continuing his professional career in Miami would certainly make an easy transition for Beck and his team.

“Everybody’s path is different, and I’m truly blessed and grateful that my path went the way it did,” Beck said.

It was reported early Friday morning that Beck would be throwing at the combine, giving scouts and general managers of NFL organizations a live look at what he brings to the table, including his arm strength and timing of throws during on-field drills.

For Beck, his intent to throw on Saturday will matter just as much as the interviews. As for him and other quarterbacks, it’s a chance to back up who they are off the field with their skills.

Now, as teams look at his confidence and what he looks to bring on Saturday, Beck is simply trusting the work that he has put in. Wherever he ends up, he wants teams to know he can be a reliable quarterback in the NFL.
