Once again, the pageantry of College Football knows no bounds. This afternoon, the Louisville Cardinals faced off against the Toledo Rockets in the 2025 Boca Raton Bowl, now dubbed as the Bush’s Boca Raton Bowl of Beans.
As one can infer, Flagler Credit Union Stadium, the home to the Florida Atlantic Owls, was doused head to toe in legume lunacy. While the moments ticked away before kickoff, Duke; the Bush’s mascot Golden Retriever made an appearance pre game, taking photo opps with the Toledo specialists and earning much deserved belly rubs (most of which came from me).
The atmosphere surrounding the Bowl perfectly encapsulated everything great about College Sports. At one point during the game, the entire Toledo supporters section climbed to the top of the stadium and chanted “WE WANT BEANS” while proudly spinning shirts over their heads. There was even a fan in the 100 section attempting to “Stone Cold Steve Austin” slam two canned products together. It was honestly a glorious Garbanzo sight to behold.

Quotables
Louisville Head Coach Jeff Brohem:
“Give [Toledo] credit, they fought hard, fought until the end and made it a close game. But our guys, we have played games like this all year long, so I’m proud of them for staying together and playing until the end and just finding a way to win. That’s the most important thing.”
Louisville QB Miller Moss:
“It has been a wild ride. I feel extremely grateful for the opportunities that I have had, for the opportunities that Coach Brohm and the University of Louisville have afforded me. I’m savoring it all…I feel like I have gotten the full college football experience.”
As the sun sets on a triumphant Tuesday in Boca Raton, it’s no stretch to say it was an excellent day in Pinto Paradise. As we near the off season, the legacy of lentils will rightfully be on the minds of all that basked in the glory of the Bush’s Boca Raton Bowl of Beans.
