FORT PIERCE – This one is not up for debate.

Junior defensive tackle Christopher Pierre has been one of the most consistent linemen – if not the most – this past season in the Treasure Coast area, regardless of class. Let us look at the numbers for proof.

In nine games, the 6-foot-2, 270-pound team leader posted the following statistics for Fort Pierce Westwood:

•50 tackles

•20 tackles for loss

•6 sacks

•2 forced fumbles

•2 fumble recoveries

•1 fumble recovery for a touchdown (Week 5; 45-0 home win over Glades Day)

Fort Pierce Westwood junior defensive tackle Christopher Pierre Jr. gets his sixth sack of the season in Week 11 at Boca Raton on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022.

Pierre was voted as our New Era Prep Lineman of the Week for Weeks 1, 6, and 7. He was also selected by TCPalm to the All-Area First Team on defense.

“All the hard work has paid off,” Pierre said of his honors, which include our Co-Lineman of the Year award. “It feels great. It’s something I’ve strived for since the start of the year. All the pressure was on me this year to make plays for our team and I did. I’m just happy to make my dad proud because I know he would be if he was here.”

The Fort Pierce Westwood junior’s father, Christopher Pierre Sr., passed away before he was born.

“All this is for him,” Pierre Jr. said.

Fort Pierce Westwood defensive tackle Christopher Pierre Jr. honors his father, Christopher Pierre Sr., in every game he plays. He is the primary inspiration behind our Co-Lineman of the Year’s overall success on the gridiron and beyond.

The best game this past season for Pierre Jr. came in Week 9 against Fort Pierce Central for Fort Pierce Showdown 43. In the rivalry game at Lawnwood Stadium, the defensive tackle made six tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble.

Fort Pierce Westwood head coach Chris Kokell raved about the defensive tackle’s overall production this past season.

“He’s just an absolute dog on both sides of the ball,” Kokell said of Pierre Jr., who recently received his first offer from Charlotte. “You could put him at tackle on the o-line. He’s mauling people, pancaking people left and right. And then at d-tackle, how many zero techniques that get double-teamed the whole game, get 20 tackles for a loss, six sacks, and score a touchdown? This kid is an absolute monster. He deserves the world.”
