He has finished his high school football career as the Treasure Coast’s only four-star wide receiver in his class by Rivals, 247 Sports, and On3.
He will finish as our New Era Prep No. 1-ranked wide receiver and overall player in the Treasure Coast.
He is going to go down as a Vero Beach legend.
His name is Vandrevius Jacobs, our New Era Prep Co-MVP of the Year.
The 6-foot, 170-pound standout has wowed teammates, coaches, fans, and even opponents with his wicked combination of athleticism, football IQ, speed, and quickness. This was on display in every game he played in this past season for the Fighting Indians.

The first three marks are far and away the best in the entire Treasure Coast area, to say the very least.
Vero Beach head coach Lenny Jankowski raved about ESPN West Palm’s No. 1 overall player in its Top 63 rankings for the 2023 class.
“Dre is very talented and has a great skill set,” Jankowski said. “But he also worked tirelessly to be the best. He improved as much as any player that I have coached from his junior season to his senior season. He plays with a competitive edge and at the most critical times in games, he is at his best. He’s a great teammate and plays just as hard, with or without the ball in his hands.”
Jacobs has made so many amazing plays this season, it is hard for anyone in America to keep track of everything he has done at Vero Beach.
But there is one play that may stand out above all else from his senior year.

Junior quarterback Jake Whiteley, who threw this game-changing touchdown pass to Jacobs in the District 12-4S title game from Week 10, spoke about our MVP’s overall level of impact.
“He was an incredible player who made incredible plays and caught everything I threw him,” said Whiteley, who has transferred from Vero Beach to John Carroll in the offseason.
Vero Beach junior offensive lineman Chase Stevens broke down this amazing overhead touchdown catch by Jacobs – in his own words.
“We needed a big play,” the 6-foot-4, 310-pound offensive lineman said. “I was in a normal pass set and as I’m on the guy, I noticed the ball coming out. We all just stopped and watched it happen. It was beautiful. It really helped us seal the game.”
The Jacobs touchdown would eventually set the stage for Vero Beach’s 10-7 overtime win at home over Treasure Coast to secure to district title.
Stevens went further about the talent level oozing on display for Jacobs.
“He was a stud,” Stevens said. “He was making plays every time we needed it. He’s a one-of-a-kind talent.”

Vero Beach senior lineman Sylas Bachler share his own take on what Jacobs meant to the team.
“Dre’s probably the best player I’ve ever played with,” Bachler said of the TCPalm Super 11 and All-Area First Team offense selection.
“Whatever we needed from him, he could deliver,” Bachler continued. “He put the offense on his back through injuries and all in every tight game, especially when Tyler [Aronson] went out. Just a baller.”
