WELLINGTON – Javorian Wimberly is the top-ranked wide receiver in his class for a reason.
Case in point: The Palm Beach Central junior was truly dominant on the field in his team’s Week 3 road game against Boca Raton, a showcase that saw him haul in three touchdowns and 156 yards from junior quarterback Ahmad Haston in a 48-21 blowout win.
There was one play that stood out for Wimberly in this particular tilt. He went ahead to expound on it a bit.
“It was probably a long touchdown I caught,” Wimberly said. “Because my nose was bleeding after the drive before, so I sat out. Then the offense was struggling, so I came back in and scored again.”
In 11 official full games played, Wimberly finished his junior season with 49 catches for 987 yards and 10 touchdowns.
“I felt like it went great,” Wimberly said. “I did my part as of being a great wide receiver for the team. Everyone else did their part at their positions.”
Haston spoke on Wimberly, who recently earned his first collegiate scholarship offer from USF.
“Javorian and I have been training together for as long as I can remember,” said Haston, who has offers from Marshall and Virginia. “Us both not knowing when the work would show result. Now we both have Division 1 offers and are being acknowledged for rewards like these. It’s truly amazing. But now it’s time for us to go even harder.”
Wimberly spoke on his USF offer.
“I got it three hours before my birthday so I was hyped like crazy,” said Wimberly, who earned the USF offer on Dec. 13, 2021. “When I got it, it was a relief. I was stressing about getting an offer because everyone kept getting offers but me and I had better stats, grades up and everything.”
Now that our Co-Underclassman of the Year has the attention of college coaches and recruiting analysts, it only goes up from here.
PLEASE NOTE: Wimberly shares his Co-Underclassman of the Year – Public honor with Seminole Ridge junior running back Sebastien Christian. The other nominees are Jupiter junior running back Emonte Brown and Pahokee junior defensive end Deejay Holmes.
