COCONUT CREEK – A quiet and scoreless first quarter here in Coconut Creek turned into the home team being able to put six on the board in the second quarter with 9:26 left.
Plantation was unable to score when it received the ball back after a punt return, giving the ball back to Coconut Creek.
Not long after, Coconut Creek scored on a pass play with 6:38 left in the second. An extra point would put Creek up 13-0.
At halftime, the score remained the same: Coconut Creek 13, Plantation 0.
Coconut Creek came out of halftime on fire, getting a safety at 7:38 left in the third. This score would put the home team up 15-0.
Another passing score would put Creek up 21-0 with 5:27 in the third. The home team attempted a two-point conversion, but could not connect.
At the end of the third quarter, the score was: Coconut Creek 21, Plantation 0.
A scoreless Plantation finally put six on the board with 8:41 left in the fourth. The road team attempted a two-point conversion, but it was unsuccessful.
With 5:23 left in the fourth, a touchdown run added on another six points for Creek. An extra point put Creek up 28-6.
Coconut Creek with 3:40 left in the fourth was about to punch in another six, with a successful two-point conversion coming. Once this happened, Creek was up 36-6.
Plantation got the ball back, but could not execute on this drive.
Coconut Creek received the ball and ran down the clock. With 30 seconds left, the home got into victory formation to win the game.
Both Coconut Creek and Plantation are now 3-1 on the season after four games played.
