LAKE WORTH – All Djosmithe Aurelien wants is an opportunity to play at the next level.

With his upcoming senior season potentially to start in several weeks – teams can start fall practices on August 24, according to a vote last week by the FHSAA – it is time for him to get exposure now.

Aurelien was a force to be reckoned with this past season for Lake Worth. In 6 games, he tallied 37 carries for 365 yards and 7 touchdowns on offense, while adding 26 tackles and a fumble recovery on defense.

Auerelin’s best game and moment came against Seminole Ridge in Week 5, when he scored on a 75-yard play in his team’s first play on offense. He helped to keep the game close in Lake Worth’s 28-18 loss.

Overall, the Trojans experience a three-win improvement last year, going from 1-8 in 2018 to 4-6 in 2019.

“I love the fact that I was doing well and we were winning games,” Auerelin said. “The community came together and supported us.”

Aurelien, who missed Lake Worth’s final four games due to injury, had more to say about how his junior year went.

“People that would look at Lake Worth as a bad team started to think twice about us,” Auerelin said. “I love that I was able to see how we can change our community.”

As a result of his six-game stretch of achievements, Aurelien has gained interest from several colleges in the offseason. They include the likes of South Alabama, Findlay, Samford, Ithaca College, and Marietta College.

With that said, Aurelien (No. 3-ranked bubble player in Palm Beach County) wants to help Lake Worth earn at least a winning record for his senior year.

“I will start on being in the weight room and adding mass to help avoid injuries and apply speed, speed and more speed to the game,” the 5-foot-11, 191-pound athlete said. “Me doing that will have a big effect on the defensive side of the ball. I will do whatever it takes to win games and get a shot at the playoffs.”
