The Miami Dolphins made waves on Thursday when they unveiled their new “Dark Waters” Rivalries alternate jersey. The reveal came in a post on the team’s official X account on August 28, giving fans an up-close look at the uniform that will debut on September 29, 2025, when the Dolphins host the New York Jets on Monday Night Football.

This uniform is part of the NFL and Nike’s new “Rivalries” collection for the 2025 season. The AFC East and NFC West are the first two divisions to showcase these uniforms in divisional matchups, and the initiative will continue over the next three seasons. According to the NFL, the visiting team will wear its standard away uniforms, while the host team will don their Rivalries jerseys.

AFC East Rivalries Schedule:

  • Miami Dolphins: September 29 vs. New York Jets
  • Buffalo Bills: October 5 vs. New England Patriots
  • New England Patriots: November 13 vs. New York Jets
  • New York Jets: December 7 vs. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins’ Rivalries game was strategically chosen against the Jets, a team they share one of the NFL’s most storied rivalries with. Miami leads the all-time series 61–57–1. From Dan Marino’s iconic “fake spike” to Jevon Holland’s 100-yard pick-six, the Dolphins have consistently made their mark in this matchup. In the last 10 meetings, Miami has gone 8–2. Current quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been perfect against New York, boasting a 6–0 record with 1,276 passing yards, 8 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions.

This year, however, the Jets enter with a new look. Quarterback Justin Fields and head coach Aaron Glenn aim to challenge Miami’s recent dominance and shift the balance in one of the NFL’s most heated rivalries.
