The University of South Florida Bulls women’s basketball team extends its winning streak to five as the Bulls defeat the Wichita State University Shockers 75-53 at the Yuengling Center. USF advances to 12-7 (6-1 in the American) on the season.

Led by graduate guard Katie Davidson’s 24 points, which is her season high, along with three rebounds and two assists. Davidson recorded her third game with 20+ points.
“I just got off to a good start. And then also too, I think it just helps playing with the teammates I have. Like, they are just so selfless. Every time that I’m scoring the ball, before I can get back on defense, they’re high-fiving my hand. We’re all smiling, and I feel like each game we have so many different people who can go off each night,” Davidson said.
The Bulls came out of the gates slowly but picked things up in the first quarter as the Shockers held their largest lead at five. USF would go on a 10-0 run through the second quarter.
“I think the first quarter we’ve kind of struggled all year with, we’ve got to stay with it. We know we usually start off slow, we know we always emphasize before (the game) like we can’t start off slow. But when we do start off slow, we know we just got to pick it up and stay with it,” Graduate guard Edyn Battle said.
Battle filled the stat sheet with her first career double-double, putting up 14 points and a career high of 10 assists.
USF travels to Philadelphia to play Temple University on Jan. 20 for its next game.
