BOCA RATON- What a game!

After a questionable first half, Florida Atlantic defeated the College of Charleston in the Field of 68 Classic. At halftime, FAU trailed Charleston 46-40.

Entering the second half, FAU turned on the jets. The Owls were led by the double-double performance of Johnell Davis (24 Points, 10 Rebounds). Davis was electric tonight, scoring on all levels of the court. Davis shinned in the paint, weaving through defenders as the pocket collapsed.

Another storyline of note came from the dominance of FAU’s bigs. Vlad Goldin recorded 17 Points and 12 Rebounds, and Giancarlo Rosado recorded 15 Points 8 Rebounds and 3 Assists. Regardless of who was put on the Owl bigs, Charleston did not have an answer for them. During tonight’s contest, Goldin became the Division I leader in FG percentage (74%) further highlighting an unreal season for the big man on the national and international stage.

Many can attribute tonight‘s victory to the FAU Student Section. The Owl’s faithful were loud and proud in support of their team. Despite being down as many as 10 points in the first half, the student section did not back down and kept spirits alive. The Owl’s fed off the support as Alijah Martin’s two monster dunks set the room ablaze.

Florida Atlantic University improves to 7-1 on the season. The Owls will travel to New York City to face Illinois on Tuesday, December 5th in the Jimmy V Classic Tournament. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 P.M.
