PALM BEACH GARDENS – Christian Lee’s high school football career came to an end just over four months ago.

And about three months later, the Dwyer outgoing senior made his decision to sign his letter of intent to Alabama State.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end has secured his immediate future: a college football roster spot and a full scholarship. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Lee touched on Alabama State, which he chose over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Cornell, Columbia, Kenyon, and St. Thomas.

“This is great opportunity for me academically,” Lee said. “Great signing class. Fun and exciting environment. Very upbeat.”

Lee (No. 94 overall player; Class of 2020) ended his senior season with 60+ tackles, 11 sacks, 11 pass breakups, and one interception on defense. He added two receptions on offense at the tight end position.

Dwyer’s reigning defensive MVP went out with a bang against Boca Raton in Week 11 of the regular season. In what was perhaps the best all-around game of his high school football career, Lee tallied 12 tackles, one sack, and one pass breakup on defense, while adding a reception on offense.

“I really wanted to end my high school season off good,” Lee said. “All my coaches growing up told me that they never forgot their last high school game, and I didn’t want to remember an effortless attempt.”
