Determined quarterbacks at Jaguars Quarterback Skills Challenge

JACKSONVILLE – On this past Sunday (February 18) female and male Quarterbacks invited from all over Florida and Georgia appeared at the fourth annual challenge presented by Jaguars Community Impact

Successfully primarily assembled by once again Adriel Rocha, this three-hour event featured multiple drill stations and consisted of a competition in rewards of Jaguar merch, gear, and accessories.

The event started at noon with athletes checking in at the stadium given a colored wristband assigning them to a group and then heading over to the flex field where they could warm up and practice with others.

Then they were all gathered around and stood with other quarterbacks with the same assigned wristband color.

All quarterbacks were then sent to six stations each consisting their own drills and skills where they could demonstrate throwing accuracy, mobility and quarterback mentality.

Station One consisted of throwing distance, where quarterbacks were asked to throw the ball as far as they could while the ball staying in bounds.

Station Two consisted of end-zone accuracy throws, where quarterbacks attempted to hit all three targets placed in the endzone and throw balls into two nets each one placed in the corners of the end-zone.

Station 2: Endzone throws:

Station Three consisted of throwing while running in motion, quarterbacks were given a path made by cones which they had to run by and attempt to throw into 2 targets and a net.

Station 3: Throwing out of the pocket:

Station Four consisted of throwing accuracy, quarterbacks were given 4 net targets as well as a target placed in the middle to hit accurately.

Station Five consisted of deep throw accuracy, where quarterbacks had to attempt to land a ball from the Forty yard line into the end zone where a net was placed.

Station Six was where quarterbacks were in a room with a coach and could learn about the proper mindset when on the field and tactics

Finally all quarterbacks were gathered together for the Top Gun Challenge where the top quarterbacks competed against each other for prizes and instead of the top six quarterbacks being chosen like last year, twelve quarterbacks were chosen this year.

As well as instead of only two quarterbacks winning the Top Gun Challenge, three could now win.

All twelve quarterbacks were put to the test on who could score the most points in deep throws and short throws.

Finally, the event was concluded with three winners and the quarterbacks were dismissed in a event they got to learn, work with and support others and have a good time.

“It just helped my mindset on football learning more and more mechanics on these drills really helped me out” Class of 2026 Tradition Prep Quarterback Mason Brown said.
