The Miami Dolphins have given Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick a revised contract, providing the veteran defender with a significant financial boost. Fitzpatrick, who had no guaranteed money remaining on his current deal, will now receive a $16.245 million signing bonus. The revised agreement does not include any added years but makes it clear that Miami wants to keep Fitzpatrick long term.

So it’s a $2M raise this year for Fitzpatrick, who is now due $17.5M in 2025 and $15.6M in 2026, and more flexibility for Miami. pic.twitter.com/35NDqrcFRt
This move has cleared $11 million in cap space which benefits and helps Miami bring in more players during camp. Next on the docket, the Dolphins need to extend defensive lineman Zach Sieler. Extending Sieler is a must for the team on and off the field. It will give the organization $5 million in cap space and will keep one of the team’s captains locked in for the future.

Fitzpatrick’s agent Drew Rosenhaus stated this to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “As we continue to work with the Dolphins on a multi-year extension, we are comfortable with this commitment to Minkah.” Fitzpatrick’s 2026 salary was increased by $2 million for the upcoming campaign. His 2025 and 2026 payments are now $17.5 million and $15.6 million. Fitzpatrick, is a key piece of Anthony Weavers defense, and both Fitzpatrick and the Dolphins, are optimistic about a full extension coming soon.
