West Boca Raton just released a statement to Palm Beach County.

After dropping a 18-10 heartbreaker to nationally ranked Chaminade Madonna in Week 0, the Bulls attacked their Week 1 bye with the sole intent to remind South Florida just who they’re dealing with. Tonight’s lesson- Palm Beach Central.

The key to tonight’s demolition derby- good ole fashioned pounding the rock. West Boca’s Running back tandem of Javian Mallory (’26, Miami Commit) and Jayden Lockhart put in the majority of touches tonight, as Mallory rushed for 137 yards and 3 scores, while Lockhart provided another 50+ yards from scrimmage and a score. As the night dwindled down, Quinton Miller Jr. made his mark on the game, charging along for 25 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Defensively, West Boca was smothering. The Bulls were constantly in the backfield, led by a 2 Sack, 4 TFL night from DT Jamar Thompson, while being aided by the guys over top, as LB Maxwell Reid provided 8 tackles and 1 INT and LB Damari Jerry produced another 6 tackles and a Fumble Recovery TD.

As time expired, senior DB Tray Mitchell recorded a 42 yard pick 6 to ice the evening for the Bulls.

Following the game, I caught up with Jamar Thompson and Damari Jerry, who had this to say:

“I came into tonight knowing I needed to dominate..” said Thompson. “Last game I came out flat. During our break, I kept my head down and prepared to dominate. When I watched film, I noticed that they were slow. I knew I’d be able to use my power and speed to my advantage and be able to make plays.”

“We did our job and executed start to finish” stated Jerry. “I was able to contribute with a few tackles and a scoop and score. My teammate made a play on the ball, the other guy fumbled, I see ball, picked it up and ran as fast as I could to the end zone. I was just happy to do my job tonight with my brothers…. Man, I’m so blessed to play football.”

After tonight’s dominant affair, the 1-0 West Boca Bulls prepare for their biggest test of the regular season, as they will host #17 Bergen Catholic (NJ) on Friday, September 5.
