DELRAY BEACH – Atlantic (4-0) dominated in all three phases of the game by capitalizing on many mistakes by Boca Raton (1-2) and converting them into touchdowns.

The second-ranked Eagles scored a total of four touchdowns on offense and one on defense, along with a safety and another touchdown on special teams. In short, they looked like a complete team in their 44-14 win.

On the other hand, Boca Raton struggled throughout the game but made some strides in the third and fourth quarters to put points on the board.

Atlantic started its first possession of the game with a fast match down the field. It ended with a 9-yard passing touchdown from quarterback Lincoln Graf to running back Jamie Simmons.

A missed extra point after the score made it 6-0 in favor of Atlantic.

Soon after, star linebacker and Florida State commit Jayden Parish intercepted a pass from the Bobcats quarterback for a defensive touchdown. The score was 13-0 after Parrish’s pick-six happened and the ensuing extra point was made.

In the second quarter, a bad snap on a Boca punt resulted in a safety and the ball back for the Eagles.

The Bobcats were able to recover a fumble. But that change in possession quickly turned into points for the Eagles.

Here’s how it happened.

Another bad snap on special teams left the ball on the ground for Atlantic to pick up and take back for a touchdown.

Handling most of carries tonight was running back Damarion Alberic. Rolling an interception thrown by the Bobcats, he was able to run it in for six to extend the Eagles lead.

With the score now 30-0 to start the second half, Boca was looking to cut into that lead. And that’s exactly what the road team did with a 51-yard touchdown run on a double reverse.

The Bobcats, after a bad punt from the Eagles, got the ball back inside their own 30. They ultimately were able to put the ball in the end zone on a 14-yard touchdown strike, making the score 30-14.

After those two touchdowns, Atlantic was able to refocus and did not allow for any more big breaks or score on defense.

The offense was able to put up two more scores, adding one more rushing touchdown from Alberic and a lovely pass from Lincoln Graff to sophomore receiver James Jones.
