Palm Beach County- Ladies and Gentlemen, we are so back!
After months of painfully counting down the days, local sports have returned. The 2024-25 high school football season is back in full swing. We kicked the season off with a banger, as the #1 Atlantic Eagles traveled to #3 Palm Beach Central to continue their pre-season rivalry.
The season opened in dramatic fashion, as tonight it was all Eagles. Atlantic was powerful from the opening kick, as the Eagles scored at will.
The scoring frenzy started on the ground, as Atlantic’s 4-Star, West Virginia commit RB, Deandre Desinor broke off a 30+ yard touchdown run to put the Eagles on the board. Palm Beach Central struck back with a 46 yard field goal from kicker Ethan Dagastino, cutting the score to 6-3 at the end of the first.
Atlantic took control of the game in the second quarter and never gave an inch back. Eagles’ senior stars, QB Lincoln Graf and App. State commit WR, Teddy Hoffmann put on a clinic. Graf was in his own mode tonight, dominating in the air and on the ground, combining for 5 total scores. Three of Lincoln’s five touchdowns came en route to Hoffmann, who was always finding himself open. The final Graf score came from a redzone pass to ATH Legend Felican.
Palm Beach Central’s offense avoided the offensive shutout, as Broncos QB Chance Routson found Preston Parker Jr. for a redzone touchdown, and WR Nedrick Boldin scored on a design wildcat rush.
After Atlantic pulled the majority of starters, freshman QB Pedro Martinez connected with ATH James Jones on a goal-line fade ball.
As the final horn blared, the Atlantic Eagles emerged victorious, defeating PBC 46-17.
I loved what I saw from Atlantic tonight, their offense is must see TV, being more then efficient in both the rushing and passing game. Schematically, Atlantic’s offense appears to play into the strengths of their athletes, as speedy wideouts Kemari Walcott and the aforementioned Legend were put into pre-snap motions on multiple occasions. The Eagles also got their backs involved in the passing game, as Desinor and Dylan Ellie recorded multiple catches out of the backfield.
Despite being a relatively young corps, Atlantic’s front seven played fast and physical all day, constantly knocking down PBC’s QBs.
The red-hot Atlantic Eagles will travel back home to their nest in Delray Beach to host the Palm Beach Gardens Gators on August 23. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 P.M.
