BOCA RATON- East Carolina stormed the beaches of Boca Raton, ransacking Florida Atlantic tonight (November 11).
After the Kodak Black Day festivities wrapped up, student morale was at an all-time high leading into kickoff. Unfortunately for the Owls faithful, the aforementioned spirit was drained shortly into tonight’s contest.
Offensively, FAU showed that they have major flaws to work on. The Owls’ failed to establish both the run and passing games, leading to three-and-out drives all night. Despite being 2-5, East Carolina’s defense shut down FAU stars Lajohntay Wester and Larry McCammon III.
Regardless of the 22 points scored on them, I was very happy with FAU’s defense tonight. The Owls’ front-seven forced multiple QB-hurries, with most plays ending in sacks or incompletions. The FAU secondary held their own tonight, not allowing a passing touchdown. The Owl’s secondary forced multiple PBU’s and even came away with an interception.

East Carolina’s lone touchdown trip was midway through the first quarter, and every remaining score came in way of field goals. ECU Kicker, Andrew Conrad, will easily win “AAC Special Teams Player of the Week” going 5/5 on the day, with his longest kick being a 47-yarder.
