WEST PALM BEACH – The stars came out with their best attire for the 11th annual ESPN West Palm Top 63 Preseason Honors event at Keiser University’s gymnasium this past Saturday night (Aug. 13).
For the Class of 2023, most of the 63 best high school football players from the Treasure Coast, Palm Beach County, and beyond took part in a show to remember.
They were ranked in groups: 63-51, 50-41, 40-31, 30-21, and 20-11.
Here’s the entire Top 10 list for the 2023 class:
1. WR Vandrevius Jacobs (Vero Beach)
2. DE/LB Deejay Holmes (Pahokee)
3. DE Wilky Denaud (John Carroll)
4. DE Kerrington Lee (Dwyer)
5. WR Micah Mays (Benjamin)
6. WR Semaj Demps (Glades Central)
7. QB Ahmad Haston (Palm Beach Central)
8. WR Javorian Wimberly (Palm Beach Central)
9. OL Alex Woods (Treasure Coast)
10. DT Corey McIntyre Jr. (Treasure Coast)
Jacobs shared his thoughts on earning the No. 1 spot from ESPN West Palm.
“It’s a great feeling,” the Florida State verbal commit said. “I had a feeling it was going to be me. That’s just the confidence I have. But it’s just a great feeling that I actually heard my name being called No. 1.”
The Vero Beach 2023 wide receiver will be remembered as a player who sticks to his decision for the long haul. This is one trait that Florida State is certainly happy about now.
NOTES: Jacobs is one of four players from the Treasure Coast who made the Top 10. The others are Denaud (Auburn verbal commit), Woods (SMU verbal commit), and McIntyre Jr. (West Virginia verbal commit).
The other six Top 10 spots were made up of incoming seniors from Palm Beach County. All but one of them are verbal commits at this time, as Lee (Wake Forest), Mays Jr. (Wake Forest), Demps (Purdue), Haston (UMass), and Wimberly (Central Michigan) locked down their final college football decisions already.
Holmes is the only Top 10 player overall who has not made his decision yet. There is no word on when the Pahokee incoming senior will end his recruiting process.
