Boca Raton, FL.- It’s Official Visit season in Paradise!

This past weekend, the Florida Atlantic Owls hosted their first set of high school Official Visits of the Zach Kittley era, bringing multiple high profile recruits from across the country down to Paradise. The first 2026 visitor we’re going to spotlight is a special guest- 3Star Quarterback Cole Bergeron from St Thomas Moore (LA).

Bergeron- a 6 foot 4 gunslinger from Lafayette, Louisiana is one of the most highly sought after QB’s in the class. Cole currently holds six Division I FBS offers, including Colorado, Georgia Tech, UCLA, Louisiana (Lafayette) and Arkansas State. Cole Bergeron is currently rated as the #28 QB in the Class, and the #13 prospect in the State, per 24/7.

Following his Official Visit to Florida Atlantic this past weekend, Cole had nothing but positive things to say about his time in Boca.

“My OV to FAU was great! It was very nicely run and the staff made my family really feel welcome immediately.” Bergeron shared. “My favorite part of the weekend was the opportunity to talk ball with Coach Kittley, and hanging out with the current players.”

With his towering 6 foot 4 frame and an RPG attached to his right shoulder, Cole Bergeron is the prototypical ‘Kittley QB’. Owls’ Head Coach Zach Kittley is known for his air raid offense, which features a fast paced explosive offense with A LOT of scoring. Turn on the film and you see that firework potential in Bergeron’s game.

When asked about the opportunity to run such an explosive offense- Cole stated:

“Coach Kittley’s offense compliments my skill sets very well. They run everything through the QB, they want to attack often and go at a high tempo. I see that offense being really fun to operate.”

While scrolling through the 24/7 Composite’s National Rankings; one thing stands out to me- Cole Bergeron is one of the best QB’s available this recruiting cycle. Of the 27 quarterbacks above Cole, only four still remain uncommitted and only one is committed to a Group of Five program (Nathan Bernhard, App. State). If the Owls are able to land one of the most prolific passers in the country, the first recruiting class of the Kittley era is off to a flying start.

When asked about what’s next in his recruitment process, Cole shared with me:

“I’m in the process of finding a fit best for me as a player and a student. FAU has definitely opened my eyes to the possibilities of what playing in this type of offense can do for a player like me.”

Please note- Cole has previously taken an Official Visit to Georgia Tech from May 29-31. As of the time of this publication- Cole has not scheduled any other OV’s.
