Miami, FL.– It was a rough afternoon for the Florida A&M Rattlers after falling 31-13 to the South Carolina State Bulldogs.

The Rattlers offense was completely stifled by the Bobcats’ D, just barely surpassing 160 yards of total offense. FAMU recorded a grand total of 15 scrimmage yards on the ground, with their dual QB set not passing for over 100 yards individually.

FAMU needed a spark to make their trip down to the 305 memorable, and that fire was ignited by one of their veteran leaders. Redshirt Junior DB Justin Bostic would tout the performance of a lifetime, throwing down 6 tackles while also nabbing 2 Interceptions from the Bobcat offense, including a 79 yard interception return TD.

Justin had this to say about his performance following the game:

“It feels great but we still got lots of work to do….Just being in position and trusting my technique put me in position to make plays… We have to keep wringing the towel out until it’s completely dry.”

Bostic, a 5 foot 10 DB is building off a 23 tackle, 5 PBU 2025 campaign in stride to become the face of the Rattlers’ no fly zone. During his high school career, Justin Bostic shined for the Palm Beach Central Broncos, recording 74 tackles, 14 pass breakups, 7 interceptions , 5 pick-sixes and 2 special teams TD’s during his senior season. Bostic earned Palm Beach County Defensive Player of the Year honors from NewEraPrep and the South Florida Sun Sentinel, and was a finalist for the Palm Beach Post’s award. Justin was also named as the #4 Player on the NewEraPrep 561 End of Season C/O 2023 Rankings.

Justin Bostic is the younger brother of 10 year NFL veteran LB and founder of the Wellington Sports Academy Jon Bostic.

Florida A&M’s next matchup is certainly a David vs Goliath game, as they’ll travel back to Hard Rock Stadium, this time to face the Miami Hurricanes on September 10.
