BOCA RATON – Over the past three days (June 13-15), FAU hosted a Big Man Camp for the offensive and defensive linemen in our area and beyond.

In this particular experience, a series of line drills took place. They were geared toward teaching and testing out each lineman in attendance.

To make this succinct, it seems as if the linemen learned a lot from the FAU coaches and all of the support staff who were there at FAU’s Tom Oxley Athletic Center.

Spanish River defensive line coach Mike Hall Sr. witnessed the vast majority of the FAU Big Man action that occurred. He provided us with the list of standouts from Palm Beach County.

According to Hall Sr., there were two groups paired up for the camp. What this teams is that we would need others to let us know if any more of our area’s linemen were in attendance.

“These are the guys who showed a variety of skills to me,” Hall Sr. said. “They displayed speed, power, strength, explosiveness, technique and a desire to get to the quarterback.”

The primary coaches who operated the FAU Big Man Camp were FAU head coach Willie Taggart, FAU defensive line coach Kevin Patrick, and FAU offensive line coach/running game coordinator Ed Warinner.

“It was a well run camp,” Hall Sr. said. “The coaches and players that ran it were knowledgeable and very willing to help each player. The skills and drills that were taught are great for helping each player perfect his craft.”
