BOCA RATON – The Florida Atlantic Owls are coming off a disappointing 31-7 loss to Marshall University last Saturday.
The Owls currently have an overall record of 3-4 and are 1-2 in conference play. They are having a very tough time getting it done on the road this season, as they fell to 0-4 away from FAU Stadium.
The Owls offense struggled to put points up on the scoreboard, and part of it was due to their subpar, yet shocking showing in their run game.
FAU only rushed the ball for 109 yards, which is a season low for the Owls. Running back Kerrith Whyte led all FAU rushers with 40 yards and junior stud Devin Singletary rushed for just 39 yards against the Thundering Herd.
The only touchdown for the Owls came on a 2-yard pass from quarterback Chris Robison to tight end Harrison Bryant, who finished the contest with 6 catches for 59 yards and a touchdown. Junior wide receiver Jovon Durante played well as he went over the century mark in receiving yards, finishing with seven receptions for 114 yards.
On the bright side, FAU sports a 3-0 record at home, and they plan to keep that going in full force as Louisiana Tech pays a visit to paradise on Friday Night. The Bulldogs are 5-2 overall, and second in the Conference USA Western Division division with a record of 3-1.
The Bulldogs fought off the UTEP Miners for a tough 31-24 win last Saturday to earn their third conference win. Senior wideout Teddy Veal was in the zone for LA Tech last week as he caught 11 passes for 103 yards. He will definitely be a key offensive weapon the Owls want to keep an eye out for this Friday (Oct. 26).
The kickoff time at FAU Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m.
