Happy New Year dear reader! The stage is officially set: the #6 Ole Miss Rebels will face the #10 Miami Hurricanes in the 2026 Fiesta Bowl with a trip to the National Championship in sights.

It wouldn’t be the College Football Playoff without drama, and both games brought in the New Year with just that. On New Year’s Eve, Miami stunned the #2 Ohio State Buckeyes 24-14 following a smothering defensive effort by the ‘Canes in the Cotton Bowl.

Moments ago, the Ole Miss Rebels downed the #3 Georgia Bulldogs in an SEC on SEC battle in the Sugar Bowl. It was a gritty back and forth bout between the Rebs’ and the ‘Dawgs, but ultimately a 320 Yard and 2 Touchdown night from QB Trinidad Chambliss would seal the win. Hotty Toddy, Gosh All Mighty what a game.

This game describes the beauty of College Football as a whole, because the Hurricanes and the Rebels have only met three times in program history, with the most recent duel coming in 1951. Ole Miss holds a 2-1 record over the ‘Canes- but Miami took down the last bout in a 20-7 thriller.

This will be Miami’s fifth trip to the Fiesta Bowl, and Ole Miss’ first. Miami has not been back to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl since their heart breaking loss to Ohio State in the 2003 BCS National Title game.

The 2026 Fiesta Bowl will take place on January 8 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Kickoff is slated for 7:30PM.

Per FanDuel- Miami is currently -3.5 Favorites with the Over/Under Points Total at +/- 52.5.
