PALM BEACH COUNTY – Tra’Nell Hollis had a senior season to remember.
Going from relatively unknown to a bona-fide force on the field, Hollis provided his team with a steady mix of grit, determination, leadership, and athleticism to lead his team to a surprise Class 8A playoff berth and an 8-3 final record.
Hollis was recently recognized as our Breakthrough Player of the Year, and it’s reflected in our final Top 100 player rankings for the Class of 2020. The Boca Raton senior athlete zoomed up 28 spots from No. 59 to No. 31 overall, while earning the No. 3 class ranking in the athlete category.
Another player who made a big gain in our final Top 100 for this class is Pahokee senior athlete Jermaine Roberson, who accounted for 20+ total touchdowns and led his team to a berth in the Class 1A state semifinals. The 2019 Muck Bowl MVP, who was one of the best athletes this season in Palm Beach County, climbed up 19 spots from No. 32 to No. 13, while jumping up from No. 4 to No. 2 in the athlete category.
While Hollis and Roberson made huge strides in their own right, it was American Heritage senior wide receiver Andison Coby who completed the largest gains this season out of every single 2020 player in Palm Beach County. The Offensive Player of the Year runner-up zoomed from No. 81 to No. 24 to No. 11 in three Top 100 releases, marking a remarkable 70-spot rise.
Coby finished the season with a Palm Beach County-best 1,010 receiving yards, while adding eight touchdowns in the process.
Among other notables: MVP of the Year and Palm Beach Central senior wide receiver Bryan Robinson finished as our No. 1 overall player, while MVP runner-up, Defensive Player of the Year and Pahokee senior defensive end Frankie Burgess moved up from No. 3 to No. 2 in our final Top 100.
Robinson also finished as our No. 1-ranked wide receiver, while Burgess ended this year as our No. 1 defensive end.
More notables: Offensive Player of the Year and Cardinal Newman senior running back Chris D’Or finished as our No. 4 overall player and No. 1 2020 running back in Palm Beach County. Lou Groza Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year finalist, and Jupiter senior quarterback Johnathan Mosley moved up from No. 11 to No. 9 in the final Top 100, while keeping his quarterback position spot at No. 1.
There is one debut in our final player rankings for the 2020 class.
We welcome Palm Beach Gardens senior lineman Decorri Brown to the Top 100. It’s a long overdue honor for Brown, who enters at No. 58.
Below is the entire Top 100 player rankings list for the Class of 2020.
