Roster movement continues to hit Florida International University as multiple players have announced plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, signaling a major shift for the Panthers heading into next season.

Leading the headlines is forward Larry Olayinka, who intends to explore new opportunities following a strong one year season with FIU. The 6-foot-9 forward, represented by SK Pearlman of Verus Team, made his decision public through League Ready. Olayinka averaged 10.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game, emerging as a reliable two way presence in the Panthers’ frontcourt.

His departure, however, is just part of a growing trend. Guard Ashton Williamson has also announced plans to enter the transfer portal, per The Athletics college basketball coverage. Williamson now joins freshman big man Eric Dibami, who had already entered the portal, as both players begin the search for new programs.

The trio’s decisions highlight a significant off-season transition for FIU. Olayinka brought size, defensive impact, and experience after previous stops at Utah Tech University and Samford University. Meanwhile, Williamson provided backcourt depth, and Dibami represented future potential in the paint.

With three contributors now seeking new homes, FIU faces the challenge of retooling its roster while navigating the modern realities of college basketball, where the transfer portal continues to reshape teams across the country.

As the off- season unfolds, all eyes will be on where these Panthers land next and how FIU responds to the sudden wave of departures.
