PALM BEACH COUNTY/TREASURE COAST – This is the week we have all been waiting for.
The regular season ended last Thursday night (April 13) for flag football. And now that we have begun the transition into playoff mode, we will see every team fighting for their respective seasons each day now.
Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast are represented in the following five FHSAA flag football districts:
•Class 1A – District 11
•Class 1A – District 12
•Class 2A – District 10
•Class 2A – District 11
•Class 2A – District 12
CLASS 1A – DISTRICT 11
All teams have played their quarterfinal games yesterday (April 17). Here are the results.
No. 1 seed Lincoln Park Academy (10-2) – Bye
No. 2 seed John Carroll (9-1) earned a 34-0 win over No. 7 seed Avon Park (2-8)
No. 1 seed Martin County (11-0) vs. No. 8 seed Treasure Coast (2-10) – 5 p.m. start time
No. 2 seed Fort Pierce Central (8-7) vs. No. 7 seed Dwyer (6-9) – 4 p.m. start time
No. 3 seed Jupiter (6-5) vs. No. 6 seed Centennial (4-9) – 5 p.m. start time
No. 4 seed Vero Beach (5-2) vs. No. 5 seed South Fork (9-3) – 5 p.m. start time
SEMIFINALS: Wednesday (April 19) at 5 p.m.
FINAL: Thursday (April 20) at 7 p.m.
NOTE: The highest remaining two seeds will host the semifinal games and the highest remaining seed will host the final.
NOTE: Season has ended for No. 9 seed Port St. Lucie (0-10).
CLASS 2A – DISTRICT 11
All teams will be playing in their quarterfinal games today (April 18).
No. 1 seed Wellington (10-2) vs. No. 8 seed Palm Beach Lakes (4-8) or No. 9 seed Lake Worth (2-11) – 6 p.m. start time
No. 2 seed Seminole Ridge (9-2) vs. No. 7 seed John I. Leonard (6-6) – 6 p.m. start time
No. 3 seed Palm Beach Gardens (10-4) vs. No. 6 seed Palm Beach Central (8-3) – 6 p.m. start time
No. 4 seed Forest Hill (12-2) vs. No. 5 seed Royal Palm Beach (7-6) – 6 p.m. start time
SEMIFINALS: Wednesday (April 19) at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
FINAL: Thursday (April 20) – Start time TBA
NOTE: Semifinal games and final game will be held at Royal Palm Beach High School.
CLASS 2A – DISTRICT 12
Yesterday (April 17) was a rainout day for several teams and at least one district. Due to torrential downpours and lightning earlier in the day, all district playoff games in the 2A-12 quarterfinal round were postponed until today (April 18).
Here is how the 2A-12 quarterfinals and play-in game will go this afternoon and evening:
PLAY-IN: No. 8 seed Olympic Heights (1-11) vs. No. 9 seed Santaluces (2-7) – 5 p.m. start time at Park Vista
QUARTERFINAL: No. 1 seed Park Vista (12-1) vs. No. 8/No. 9 seed winner – 7 p.m. start time
QUARTERFINAL: No. 2 seed Spanish River (11-4) vs. No. 7 seed Boca Raton (3-12) – 7 p.m. start time
QUARTERFINAL: No. 3 seed Deerfield Beach (9-4) vs. No. 6 seed Stoneman Douglas (3-5) – 6 p.m. start time
QUARTERFINAL: No. 4 seed Atlantic (6-7) vs. No. 5 seed West Boca Raton (4-4) – 5 p.m. start time
SEMIFINALS: Wednesday (April 19) at 6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
FINAL: Thursday (April 20) at 7 p.m.
NOTE: Semifinal games and final game will be at Boca Raton High School.
