PALM BEACH COUNTY/TREASURE COAST: In what was the Treasure Coast’s Game of the Year, we had a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup that lived up to the hype.
It happened last night (April 26) in the Class 2A-Region 3 quarterfinal, when No. 8 seed/No. 1 Fort Pierce Central hosted No. 2/No. 1 seed Martin County for the right to advance in the state playoffs.
Led by quarterback Adrienne Rivera (2025), the Lady Cobras (12-7) overcame a 6-0 halftime deficit to the Lady Tigers (12-2 final record) and came away with a spirited 13-6 win.

CLASS 1A-REGION 3 QUARTERFINAL: No. 8 seed Somerset Academy Canyons (14-5) traveled north to earn a hard-fought 14-13 road win over No. 1 seed Wildwood (11-1 final record) last night
The Lady Cougars were down 6-0 for much of the first half. But after a lightning delay ended, quarterback Ava Wotipka (2027) found wide receiver Delanie Doty (2027) for a long touchdown pass that was preceded by an extra point that gave the road team a 7-6 lead.
Before the first half ended, the Lady Cougars would score again to take a 14-6 lead.
After the Lady Wildcats cut the Lady Cougars lead to 14-13 in the third quarter, the defense held it down the rest of the way to preserve the program’s first FHSAA state playoff victory.
