PALM BEACH COUNTY/TREASURE COAST: In what was the Treasure Coast’s Game of the Year, we had a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup that lived up to the hype.

It happened last night (April 26) in the Class 2A-Region 3 quarterfinal, when No. 8 seed/No. 1 Fort Pierce Central hosted No. 2/No. 1 seed Martin County for the right to advance in the state playoffs.

Led by quarterback Adrienne Rivera (2025), the Lady Cobras (12-7) overcame a 6-0 halftime deficit to the Lady Tigers (12-2 final record) and came away with a spirited 13-6 win.

Watch the clips below to see how all the scoring took place in this one.

With the program’s first FHSAA state playoff win in the books, Fort Pierce Central will take its No. 8 seed status into the 2A-Region 3 semifinal next Wednesday (May 3) against No. 4 seed Spanish River (15-4), a 19-0 winner at home last night over No. 5 seed Harmony (16-3) final record in the 2A-Region 3 quarterfinals.

Fort Pierce Central had a message to send, which you can see right below.

CLASS 1A-REGION 3 QUARTERFINAL: No. 8 seed Somerset Academy Canyons (14-5) traveled north to earn a hard-fought 14-13 road win over No. 1 seed Wildwood (11-1 final record) last night

The Lady Cougars were down 6-0 for much of the first half. But after a lightning delay ended, quarterback Ava Wotipka (2027) found wide receiver Delanie Doty (2027) for a long touchdown pass that was preceded by an extra point that gave the road team a 7-6 lead.

Before the first half ended, the Lady Cougars would score again to take a 14-6 lead.

After the Lady Wildcats cut the Lady Cougars lead to 14-13 in the third quarter, the defense held it down the rest of the way to preserve the program’s first FHSAA state playoff victory.

CLASS 2A-REGION 3 QUARTERFINAL: We had a third upset last night in our area as No. 7 seed Palm Beach Gardens (12-5) went on the road to earn a 14-7 win over No. 2 seed Park Vista (14-3 final record).
