The 2025-26 College Football Season may have just ended earlier this week, but Football in Paradise is on the forefront of all South Florida resident’s minds.
Moments ago, Florida Atlantic Athletics announced via social media that the Owls’ have officially finalized their 2026 Season Schedule after the addition of FCS Texas Southern during their previous October 3rd opening. The Texas Southern Tigers finished 6-5 in 2025, earning the #2 seed in the SWAC Conference. The Tigers’ most notable win during last season was a 61-10 rout of Virginia Lynchburg, with the HBCU from Houston also suffering a drastic 35-3 loss at Cal Berkley week two.
It’s a new era under center for Tiger football, as 1,600 yard starting QB K.J. Cooper entered his name in the Transfer Portal before swiftly committing to South Florida.

As for Florida Atlantic- the anticipation of Zach Kittley’s year two in Paradise is soaring to new heights. The Owls’ shocked the college football world, retaining both their 3,600 yard and 24 TD QB Caden Veltkamp and 1,400 AP yard, 7 TD WR Easton Messer offensively, and returning their two most physically imposing threats on defense- DL CJ Doggette and EDGE Wilky Denaud- a local star (John Carroll, ’23).
