WELLINGTON – Some things are bigger than football.
This week, Palm Beach Central hosted its second annual youth football camp from July 10-13. Kids from across the county had the opportunity to spend time learning from members of the Palm Beach Central varsity football team. Members of the Broncos team led the campers in drills, 1-on-1’s, 7-on-7’s, and some fun games.
While this was definitely an amazing opportunity for the kids, I believe this week made a long lasting impact on the camp counselors.
A few years back, our very own star players were little kids participating in the exact same camps.
Now that they are older, PBC’s Leon Williams (ATH; ‘24), Nedrick Boldin (ATH; ‘25) and Caleb Butler (QB; ‘26) were more than excited to give back to the next generation. This was very evident, as these three were doing everything to make the experience fun and engaging for the kids.
When asked about what this week has meant to them, the PBC stars said:
“The camps I went to when I was younger made me fall in love with the sport and want to play high school ball,” Leon Williams said. “Now that it is the other way around and I’m in the leadership position, it feels even better giving back to the kids.”
“Going to the camps back when I was younger really ignited my love for football early on,”Nedrick Boldin said. “Now being able to give back and have that same impact on other kids, it means a lot to me.”
“When I was little, I attended a camp like ours. I was so excited to hang out and work out with the high school guys, and they treated me like one of their own. I knew that I had to treat the kids even better when I get to high school, so that’s what I’m doing,” Caleb Butler said. “I love giving back to the kids and to the community. I’m going to give them the best time they can have.”

Another heartwarming story was the dynamic between PBC wide receiver Preston (PJ) Parker Jr. and his little brother Elijah, who was in attendance.
Throughout the day, Preston was making sure his brother was doing well. During every break, PJ was with Elijah and his friends having fun and laughing.
When asked about coaching his brother, Preston Parker said:
“As an older brother I will always stand by you and pave the way for you,” Preston stated. “Elijah, it was a joy coaching you this week, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you. The sky is the limit. I love you little brother.”
