Delray Beach, FL- “It’s always been my dream to be able to host an event like this”.
This afternoon (December 23), Atlantic High Wide Receiver Teddy Hoffmann hosted his first annual Holiday Youth Camp in partnership with Battle Sports. Hoffmann, a recent NC State signee and Eagles’ senior leader used his camp as a fellowship opportunity for boys and girls across Palm Beach County to connect and have fun.
Some of Palm Beach County’s finest stood alongside Teddy today, serving as counselors for the kids. Today’s elite volunteers included Atlantic’s High Head Coach Jamelle Murray, Running Back DeAndre Desinor (West Virginia Signee) and Defensive Back Horace Glenn (’26), alongside St. Thomas Aquinas Wide Receiver Branden Hoch (FAU Signee) and West Boca’s Xavier Reid (’26) and Maxwell Reid (’27).
This afternoon’s kids camp started off by the athletes participating in a warmup and stretch line led by SOFLO Speed School’s John Garrish. After the dynamic warmup, the student volunteers led the kids in position specific drills. Next, the kids competed in 1on1 battles, before finishing with organized 7v7’s.
After the camp finished up, I followed up with Teddy and Coach Murray, who reflected on this afternoon’s event:
“It was awesome being able to pull this off.” Hoffmann stated “I just wanted to bring a safe place for the kids before Christmas. We got some work in but most importantly, we had fun. I see myself in a lot of these kids, I’m excited to be able to give back to the community and support them.”
“It means a lot to see one of our young men give back to the community, it’s a testament to what we are teaching in our program and that we are connecting with them mentally.” Coach Murray said “Teddy has always been a mature young man, he understands what’s important which most kids his age aren’t able to do on a consistent basis. He is grounded in his foundation from his parents who are great individuals which is why it’s pretty easy for him to stay true to his roots.”
Today’s youth camp marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Hoffmann family. In just a few short weeks, Teddy will be moving to Raleigh, NC, becoming one of the newest members and playmakers for the NC State Wolfpack. Despite the change, anyone that knows Teddy will agree that it’s safe to assume he will be active member of both communities that he calls home.
