Coral Gables, FL.- We all knew the stakes of the FSU v Miami matchup last night.
When both teams are bitter rivals both on the field, in the classroom and on the recruiting scene. It’s evident that both teams wisely recruit out of the very talented South Florida pipeline.
Ahead of Saturday’s 36-14 Miami victory, the Hurricanes’ hosted over 120 of the top recruits in the country on gameday visits. One of said elite high school visitors was Somerset Canyons (Boynton Beach, FL.) 4-Star Safety, Damari Jerry.
Jerry,a 6 foot Safety from Boynton Beach, Florida, is one of the top recruits in the class of 2027. Damari is listed as a Top100 recruit in his class by both Rivals.com and ON3. Positionally, Jerry is the #6 Safety recruit, while being the #7 recruit in the State. He possesses elite speed and field vision, which allows him to constantly be making plays.
Damari Jerry currently holds 8 Division I FBS offers, with both Miami and Florida State actively fighting in his recruitment.
Here is my full post game interview with Damari Jerry:
Christian: “Damari how you enjoy your visit to last nights FSU v Miami game?”
Damari: “I definitely enjoyed the game last night! I love the energy, the atmosphere and being there building that relationship with the coaching staff and some of the players.”
Christian: How did the gameday visit affect your recruiting process?
Damari: “The gameday visit is definitely playing a big part in my recruitment process, because it’s really showing how much Miami wants me. They’re always finding a way to get me down there, which has allowed me to build a bond with the staff.”
Christian: “Is Miami a top option?”
Damari: I know it’s still an early in my recruitment process, but Miami is one school that is definitely up there for sure. Their track record of elite DB’s they produce is something that stands out to me and my loved ones.
