LOXAHATCHEE – Outside of rising star Ty Jackson (2025 linebacker), Seminole Ridge has a team mostly full of unknown but hungry and uber-determined underclassmen.

One of these players we will get to know is Dylan Reid, who is in the 2025 class and can play multiple positions on the field.

As one of several Hawks who can impact the game on offense, defense, and special teams, Reid is ready to show Palm Beach County and beyond what he’s all about.

Last year – and this past spring football circuit – was a precursor of what could come this upcoming fall campaign. In limited action as a sophomore, Reid (6-foot, 185 pounds) finished the 2022 season with 13 carries for 22 yards as a running back and eight total tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

Reid said his best moment was on special teams in a Week 10 game against fellow District 9-3M rival Dwyer, which resulted in a 20-17 home loss.

“My best play and favorite one was where I set up a block that led to a kick return,” said Reid, who contributed to a long kick return for a score by then-Seminole Ridge senior wide receiver and now-2023 alum Gavin Kolesar.

You can watch the play right below.

Reid on how his sophomore season went at Seminole Ridge:

“My sophomore season was a mental year where I didn’t get all of the opportunities I want,”Reid said. “But when I did get playing time, I made the best of it.”

Fast forward to Seminole Ridge’s spring football circuit, which ended in a spring jamboree at home on May 19 against South Fork and Lake Worth.

Here are the results of the two Seminole Ridge games, which went for one half each:

•Seminole Ridge over South Fork, 14-0

•Seminole Ridge over Lake Worth, 21-14

Seminole Ridge won the spring game jamboree with an unofficial 2-0 record.

Reid’s impact came in the second game against Lake Worth.

On one drive, he scored a rushing touchdown on a 14-yard quarterback keeper early on. And on another drive, he had two pass completions that combined for 26 yards.

That drive ended with a teammate punching it in with a run play.

Reid on his jamboree contribution:

“I didn’t end up playing too much because of it being a spring game,” Reid said. “But I did well driving down the field, completing some throws and scoring.”

The summer is where Reid plans to start shining for real.

He participated in the Keiser Team Camp, which took place from June 15-17.

“Summer has been good so far,” Reid said. “I haven’t been to many camps, but we just had a 7-on-7 today vs. King’s Academy, where we showed promise and looked good. I will also be attending the Keiser 7-on-7 on Saturday (June 24).

Reid plans to end his summer camp experience at the Keiser quarterback/wide receiver skills challenge on July 15.

And after that, it will be all about the upcoming fall season.

“I want to have at least five touchdown passes and make the playoffs,” Reid said. “I want us to play our best, learn, and get better from everything we do – mistakes and good things.”

Reid gave a shout out to Hawks head coach Chad Chieffalo and his coaching staff.

“I couldn’t ask for better coaches,” Reid said. “They have given us energy when we need it, make us work hard all the time, and make us play to our best abilities,” Reid said. “They make sure we are doing the right thing at all times on and off the field. Coach Chief is a great coach and a great role model. He’s always making sure we have opportunities to better our game. And personally the rest of the coaches have put their trust in me and have given me opportunities to succeed.”
