PALM BEACH COUNTY – The FHSAA’s Girls Basketball Selection Show from yesterday (Feb. 5) was a reveal that showed a few surprises for our area’s teams.

For starters, we have six district champions that were crowned this past Friday night (Feb. 3).

They are as follows:

•District 8-1A: Glades Day (9-7)

•District 14-2A: Berean Christian (17-6)

•District 8-3A: King’s Academy (20-4)

•District 7-7A: Palm Beach Gardens (15-8)

•District 8-7A: Palm Beach Central (17-8)

•District 13-7A: Boca Raton (20-7)

All six of our aforementioned girls basketball teams qualified for the FHSAA state playoffs.

In addition to that, we ended up with nine at-large selections for the state’s postseason.

They are as follows:

•Class 2A: Atlantic Christian (13-3), Boca Raton Christian (16-8)

•Class 3A: Benjamin (13-8), Cardinal Newman (17-10), St. Andrew’s (13-8)

•Class 4A: Somerset Academy Canyons (17-7)

•Class 6A: Dwyer (13-7), Seminole Ridge (14-6)

•Class 7A: Park Vista (15-6)
