LAKE WORTH – Boca Raton looks to be in playoff form after downing Santaluces in a district title matchup.
Boca Raton started fast and jumped out to a 16-4 lead with a little over three minutes left in the first quarter. The Lady Bobcats were hitting on all cylinders.
The Lady Chiefs wouldn’t be able to get much going in the first, as they were down 22-8 going into the second quarter.
Hannah Pratt would start the second quarter fast with a smooth layup. Boca would go on a 6-0 run that would force Santaluces into a early second quarter timeout.
The Lady Chiefs would surge midway through the second but it would be short lived as the Lady Bobcats were relentless. Kelsi Mingo knocked down a long range three that gave the Lady Bobcats momentum.
It would be the Kelsi Mingo and Grace Alfieri Show at the end of the first half. Mingo had 15 points and Alfieri had 12 points to give the Lady Bobcats a 46-15 lead at the half.
It would be a running clock in the third after the Lady Bobcats went up 50-15 with five minutes left in the third frame. Boca would pull all of its starters with a little over three minutes left in the third.
At the end of three, Boca would be up 57-19.
The Lady Bobcats would dominate the rest of the way as they cruised to a 70-25 victory.
