PALM BEACH COUNTY – We are very close to the official start of the FHSAA state playoffs.

As we are now in district tournament mode, all teams who have advanced will be playing for their respective district titles tonight (Feb. 3).

This includes our No. 1-ranked team, which is King’s Academy (19-4).

On Wednesday (Feb. 1), the top-seeded Lady Lions defeated fifth-seeded Somerset College Prep Academy (13-8) in the District 8-3A semifinal round by a score of 66-31.

They will now host third-seeded Cardinal Newman (17-9; No. 5-ranked team in Palm Beach County) in the District 8-3A title game, which is set for 6 p.m. at King’s Academy.
