Girls basketball: Oxbridge Academy rolls over Santaluces in 66-43 win

LANTANA – Oxbridge Academy’s girls basketball team is currently ranked No. 16 in the state and they showed it against the Santaluces squad.

The Lady Chiefs (12-6) came into tonight’s matchup as a underdog and the Lady Thunderwolves (17-4) proved they are worthy of their top 25 ranking in the state of Florida.

Haley Howarth was on fire for the Lady Wolves as she knocked down a flurry of three-pointers in the first half. Howarth, Aaliyah Stanley, and Kaylon Smith played a large part in Oxbridge holding a 38-20 lead at halftime.

The Lady Thunderwolves would roll in the second half as they pushed their lead to 55-29 at the end of the third quarter. It was clear that Oxbridge wanted to send a message as its defense was relentless the entire night.

The Lady Chiefs fought until the very last buzzer, but they would come up short against the Lady Thunderwolves, who would win 66-43.
