Cambridge,MA- Despite the downpour, Harvard Crimson wouldn’t let the Stetson Hatters wash their Season Opener.

The Crimson defeated Stetson University 35-0 in their first game of the season, riding a big first quarter to provide the team with its first home opening shut in 20 years.

“I thought both sides of the ball did a really good job of just staying focused out there,” new Head Coach Andrew Aurich said. “And ultimately, there’s a lot of stuff we’re gonna have to clean up — but it’s always better to be cleaned up after a win than a loss.”

QB Jaden Craig delivered a dime to senior wide receiver Scott Woods II. After juking and squeezing through defenders , Woods sped into the end zone for the 46-yard touchdown, putting Harvard up 7-0 and officially starting the Aurich era with a bang.

The Crimson never took their foot off the gas . Stifling all of Stetsons drives through out the game as the Hatters struggled to put anything together . This was Stetson first trip to Harvard in one they probably will want to forget .

Harvard are 1-0 and travel to face Brown next Saturday, Sept. 28

Stetson fall to 2-2 and will travel to Minnesota to play University of St Thomas next week.
