COCONUT CREEK- WHAT DID I JUST WATCH?!
Atlantic High traveled to Coconut Creek to face Monarch in a future game of the year. Despite Monarch taking an early lead, Atlantic embodied their team’s motto all night, “bend don’t break”. Little by little the Eagles chipped away at the Knights lead.
The biggest reason for Atlantic victory tonight what is the performance of Senior running back Demarion Alberich Alberich recorded over 250 total yards as well as four touchdowns. Alberic’s shifty rushes caused problems for the Knight’s defense throughout the game. When Atlantic needed him, the most, Damarion put his team and his city on his back tonight.
Defensively, the Eagles held strong. Late in the 4th Quarter, Atlantic held Monarch short on two crucial goal line stands. Defensive Lineman Marlon Huff (’24) showed out tonight, recording double digit tackles, a sack and multiple QB pressures.
This was a statement win for Atlantic. The red hot Eagles will face North Miami Beach at home on Thursday, September 7th at 6:30 P.M.
