Six years ago there was a dream, a dream to bring professional soccer to the city of Miami.
Over the next half decade, there’s been joy, there’s been passion, there’s been heart break, there’s been agony. Tonight- every emotion, every ounce of drive for greatness, every layer that paved the foundation to where we are currently came to fruition. Tonight, the perennial underdog solidified itself at the top of the mountain.
Every match- Chase Stadium, the home to Inter-Miami CF, becomes one of the most energetic venues in sports. The Club’s five unwavering Supporters Factions serve as the pulse to keep Inter-Miami alive. They’re known for their unrelenting chants while excessively banging drums or waiving flags that encompass the entirety of the supporters section. They are the standard for sports fandom across the nation. Tonight, La Familia turned the notch up to 11, and it feed into the team’s performance on the pitch.
During tonight’s MLS Eastern Conference Final between the #5 seed New York City FC and #3 Inter-Miami CF there was an unfamiliar buzz in the air that just encapsulated the hearts of everyone in attendance. The club already filled to the brim with superstars had a new sense of meaning- bring a championship to the city of Miami.

Well, Inter-Miami did their part tonight- and it came in beautiful and dramatic fashion. The Herons of Miami launched points on the board like they were on a Black Friday Discount, defeating NYC 5-1. Forward Tadeo Allende lit up the stat sheet scoring three goals on the night (’14, ’23, ’89). This was Allende’s third consecutive multi goal match, tying the MLS post season goals record with 8 (Carlos Ruiz, LA Galaxy 2002).

Inter-Miami also found the back of the net after Mateo Silvetti (’67) and Telasco Segovia (’83) each contributed a goal of their own. Silvetti’s score was set up by his mentor, the great Lionel Messi, who contributed his 405th professional assist, a new record for the sport. Both Messi and Silvetti are born and raised in Rosario, Argentina so this goal was surely symbolic to the futbol faithful.
