Boca Raton, FL.- One of the 561’s most versatile trench babies just finished an Official Visit to the Hometown Team and left with nothing but a smile.
This past weekend (June 6-8), Atlantic (Delray Beach, FL.) Defensive Lineman; JVon Hatcher (’26) took his first Official Visit to Florida Atlantic. Hatcher, a 6 foot 4 3-Star prospect (RIVALS.com) is a Swiss-army-knife on the line, with the ability to bully opposing offensive linemen as both an interior defensive tackle or off the EDGE. At the end of his breakout junior season, JVon Hatcher recorded 47 tackles, 8 sacks and a forced fumble.
JVon currently holds 15 Division I FBS Offers including: Wake Forest, Western Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Memphis, Sacramento St., and Bowling Green. Even with his competitive recruiting process, the Florida Atlantic Owls certainly stand out from the rest. When asked about what specifically stood out about his visit with the Owls, JVon stated:
“The thing that has been standing out to me the most about FAU is that they had my family smiling the whole time. It wasn’t an act. It wasn’t fake. It was genuine welcoming love from the entire staff. My family means the world to me, so seeing them feel the way they were this weekend made me happy.”
As a Boynton Beach native, JVon holds many fond memories of going to Florida Atlantic games throughout his childhood. When asked about the possibility of suiting up for the team he used to grow up supporting, Hatcher shared:
“I remember going to FAU games all the time as a kid. They were always fun and it served as a goal for me growing up. If I end up becoming an Owl it would be a cool full circle moment for me and my family.”
After a very successful Official Visit weekend to Paradise, what’s the next steps for JVon Hatcher’s recruitment process. He shared with me that he will be taking Official Visits to Bowling Green (June 13-15), Eastern Michigan (June 19-21) and West Georgia (July 18-20). JVon also shared with me that he plans to be committed by the end of June.
