Four-star lineman strengthens Hurricanes’ future in the trenches and continues Miami’s recruiting momentum.

Mario Cristobal landed another gem on Friday afternoon, this time landing a piece to their future of the offensive line with a commitment from 4-star IOL Sean Tatum.

The 6’3 317lb Navy All-American prospect out of John Carroll High School in Fort Pierce, FL, is one of the most highly touted interior offensive linemen in the 2027 class. Tatum is ranked as the #9 IOL in the country and #15 player in the state of Florida, according to Rivals Industry Rankings.

Tatum chose the Hurricanes over schools like Florida, Auburn and Tennessee, with Florida said to be the main runner up in his recruiting process. His commitment to Miami continues to build the Canes’ emphasis on building deep in the trenches, especially with multiple offensive linemen recently departing for the NFL.

For head coach Mario Cristobal and Miami’s recruiting trail moving forward, the addition is yet another step in building the Miami program in the trenches. Known for elite offensive line play with Coach Alex Mirabal, the Canes continue to stack up talent on the line, shaping the “Wall of Mirabal” for long-term success.

While there is still a while until National Signing Day, the commitment from Tatum further strengthens Miami’s identity under Mario Cristobal, which is winning the line of scrimmage.

Welcome to The U, Sean!
