Miami, FL.- Another beautiful day in Miami, another Inter-Miami W.

Today (July 20) was a day of celebration at Chase Stadium. As all should know by now, Inter-Miami star Lionel Messi led his Argentinian National Team to a 2024 Copa America Championship.

Argentina’s victory was a groundbreaking one for the little boy from Rosario, as it secured Messi’s 45th title during his lengthy playing career. This championship was extra-special because Lionel Messi is now officially the most decorated player to ever play the sport of soccer (or futbol).

Leading into tonight’s match, Inter-Miami celebrated Messi with a ceremony and tribute video. Despite the water (and fire)works, Messi was once again sidelined due to the ankle injury sustained in that Finals game.

Tonight, Inter-Miami also debuted their highly anticipated “Retro” Archive Collection kits. These 80’s inspired uniforms take inspiration from another Miami super team, the Miami Dolphins, with a sea green color way.

Now into the gameplay. Inter-Miami opened tonight’s match with a bang, as Matias Rojas parted the Chicago defense with a goal during the sixth minute. (1-0 Inter-Miami, ‘6).

Tonight’s match featured elite ball movement, as both squads were making precision passes. There wasn’t many fast breaks tonight, all possessions were long and methodical.

The score would remain 1-0 for the entirety of the half, and an overwhelming portion of the second.

Chicago would pierce the goal next, as Rafael Czichos plunged the ball past Drake Callender during the seventy-third minute. Within a minute and a half, Inter-Miami dismantled the draw, as Jordi Alba punches in a score during the seventy-fifth minute.

Looking back on my personal observations, it was a rough shooting night for Inter-Miami. The stars were getting some great looks, but most drives ended off silly mistakes.

After this short week, Inter-Miami gets a much needed break leading into the League’s Cup. Miami’s next match will be against Puebla, on Saturday, July 27. First kick is slated for 8:00 P.M.

Will Lionel Messi be back in the beautiful pink and black kits on Saturday? Only time will tell.
