One of the Palm Beach area’s best wideouts has locked in a new official visit, and it is at a school that could make an impact on his recruitment.
Jayden Elder, a standout for Spanish River, is set to be at Florida International University this upcoming weekend. Elder was at the Panthers’ camp last week, and he will make a return visit to the 305 in an official capacity starting on June 19th. When asked about the visit, Elder seemed very excited.
“Being able to take a visit to FIU this week is a blessing, and I’m looking forward to it. I am mostly looking forward to the energy and to being able to build my connection with the staff. I want them to be just as excited as I am. I am excited to get a taste of the culture.”
Totaling 913 yards and 14 touchdowns through the air, Elder has the speed and route-running to be a dynamic weapon for a vertical-based offense. His route-running has consistently improved, as has his ability to fight through contact and make plays after the catch. Elder’s full skill set shone through in this spring’s Spanish River Jamboree, as he had a game-winning touchdown and multiple key receptions for the Sharks.

If he lands at FIU, Elder is the type of player who will be able to make an immediate impact in games. His speed is a perfect fit in Willie Simmons’s offense, and his YAC ability offers the opportunity for plenty of designed touches. Elder’s upside as a route runner would also have the potential to be unlocked, especially with a very talented quarterback in Zac Katz from True North arriving in the same class.
Elder has the talent to thrive in many offenses, and the schools pursuing him in the recruitment process have been evidence of that. If he lands at FIU, Elder has the talent and skill to contribute on Day 1, while the Panthers would have the chance to get one of the steals of the entire 2027 recruiting cycle. To put it lightly, this could be a massive win for both parties, and as a result, it is a situation worth monitoring.
