LAKE WORTH – Jupiter Christian (21-4) secured its district title in a 58-38 victory on Friday night (Feb. 10) over Atalntic Christian (18-4).
The top scorers for the 2A-District 14 champion were Aidan Walker and Conner Hoffman. The Jupiter Christian pair seemed to tag team Atlantic Christian’s offense the entire first half.
Walker opened the second with two quick three pointers that forced Atlantic Christian to call a timeout.
Walker finished the game with 18 points.
“It was just preparation,” Walker said when asked what led to his stellar performance. “I just prepared and made sure I was focused to help my team get this win today.”
Hoffman finished the game with 10 points and seemed like he couldn’t miss from behind the three-point line. He was the game changer tonight.
“We knew what we had to do,” Hoffman said. “Our coach told us we’ve been preparing all year for this. We were put in the right position and it all worked out.”
A notable player for Jupiter Christian was freshman Collin Paul, who had 14 points.
Jupiter Christian head coach Tavarus Harris was pleased with his team’s victory as he talked about what it took for his squad to make it to this point and what it means for the Jupiter Christian community.
