The Jupiter Warriors are on the verge of a district championship!
On Monday night, the Warriors defeated the Palm Beach Central Broncos 21-13. It was a highly competitive contest, as both teams had key stops and big touchdowns throughout the game. But when push came to shove, Jupiter notched a few more key stops than the Broncos and sealed the game with a Nick Bothe touchdown run.
With the win, Jupiter moves to 7-1 on the season and will face Dr. Joaquin Garcia on Friday night. Palm Beach Central, after the loss, moves to 6-2 on the season and will face Cardinal Mooney at home on Friday night.
The Jupiter Offense Does Just Enough
In a defensive battle between Jupiter and Palm Beach Central, the Warriors did just enough on offense to secure the victory over the Broncos.
The scoring for Jupiter kicked off shortly after they forced and recovered a fumble from Palm Beach Central. Quarterback Dylan Foltz hit Brendan Hollinger for the score and an early 7-0 lead.
After the Broncos responded with a score of their own, the Warriors eventually responded in a big way. A few plays after a Nick Bothe chunk gain, fellow running back Durrell Moore took the handoff, broke multiple tackles, and raced all the way to the end zone. It was one of the more impressive runs and overall plays of the night.
TD, Jupiter!

Statistically, Nick Bothe was the engine of the Jupiter offense. Even when the unit was not scoring, the versatile athlete was churning out yardage to help his team consistently win the field position battle. And in the most critical of moments, Bothe powered in for a touchdown, sealing the game by increasing Jupiter’s lead to 21-12. Overall, Bothe notched 103 yards and a touchdown on 5.4 yards per carry. Without his production, it is possible that the Warriors do not do enough to win the game on offense.

Defense Rules the Day
Whether on the Jupiter or Palm Beach Central side of things, the main throughline of the game was the high-level play of the defenses.
On the Jupiter side of things, the defense had contributors step up at every level of the unit. Zach Sulyma was a force at linebacker, being credited with 14 total tackles, four tackles for loss, and two sacks. Jack Reif and Ace Bogedain were impressive as well; Bogedain had a sack and three tackles, while Reif flew all over the field to the tune of 14 total tackles, a forced fumble, and four tackles for loss, which included a sack of his own.
Jupiter’s defense did not allow much more after that, as they force a punt from the Broncos. Ace Bogedain and Jack Rief made the key plays for the Warriors. @EraPrep pic.twitter.com/ie6f8SbVO3

In the secondary, Nick Bothe notched seven total tackles, a pass breakup, and a tackle for loss. Thomas Carlstrom provided shutdown coverage all game long, and he was also credited with two tackles for loss of his own. Darius Rios forced a fumble, while Jordan Dale had a pass breakup in addition to plenty of great coverage reps throughout the game.
For most of the game, the play from Jupiter’s linebackers and the secondary consistently put the team in a great position to win. If this is the level they are going to play at consistently, the Warriors will be in a great spot to potentially win a district championship and have a nice playoff run.

For Palm Beach Central, the play in the trenches consistently gave the Broncos chances to win the game on Monday night.
Tyler Alexander was a force on the defensive line, making big plays in a variety of situations. He stuffed the run by using his strength and upper-level hand usage. He got after the quarterback, converting a pressure into a crucial sack late in the first half. Most importantly, Alexander rose to the occasion on key 3rd and 4th downs. He was the star player that the Broncos expect him to be, and it helped the Broncos fight in this game until the very end.
Isaias Matias and Tyler Desilma were forces off the edge for Palm Beach Central in this game as well. Both players were constantly in the backfield to stuff the run or get after the quarterback. The duo displayed strength against offensive linemen and the burst to create positive plays for the defense in space. Alongside Alexander, Matias and Desilma helped significantly reduce Jupiter’s explosiveness.

Cardinal Mooney presents a massive challenge on the offensive side of the ball, headlined by star quarterback Davin Davidson. But if the Broncos’ defense, led by its standout defensive line, is up to the task, Palm Beach Central will have every chance to compete against the Cougras on Friday night.
Palm Beach Central Flashes on Offense
The Broncos, from an offensive perspective, did not have their best performance against Jupiter. However, they were not completely barren of production on that side of the ball.
Quarterback Isaiah Hamilton showed great escapability throughout the game and had multiple impressive throws down the field. His best play helped set up the first Palm Beach Central touchdown of the game; throwing across his body, Hamilton found Nazier Watkins for a chunk gain to help set up a goal-to-go opportunity.

Speaking of Watkins, the wideout displayed smooth route running and speed throughout the game. He was a consistent target for Hamilton and showed that he can be used at every level of the field. Logan Lindsey Hartwig, one of the breakout players for the Broncos this season, made his mark with one of the best plays of the game. On a deep throw down the field, the wideout secured a one-handed grab while being held, giving the Broncos excellent field position in the process.

The standout of the game on offense for the Broncos, though, was Jamarlo Rawls. With Brandon Pendergrass out, Rawls led the backfield against Jupiter and produced impressive results. He ran with consistent power and burst, creating yards both before and after contact. Rawls read his blocks at a high level, and when he hit the hole, he consistently fell forward for more yardage. In key goal-line scenarios, the running back got low and powered his way into the end zone, providing the power and decisiveness needed to succeed in that area. It was an impressive performance from Rawls, who will likely be a key piece of the Broncos’ offensive attack going forward.
What a drive for Jamarlo Rawls! The RB powered the PBC offense down the field, and most importantly, punched in the TD on 4th down. The PAT is no good, and Jupiter’s lead is now 14-12. @EraPrep pic.twitter.com/fNwG1UxxCj
