The Kansas Jayhawks defended Allen Fieldhouse with a statement win tonight, defeating the #2 Iowa State Cyclones 84-63, snapping ISU’s program record 19 win streak. It was all Jay’s from the jump, with Kansas controlling the lead the entirety of the game, never relinquishing to the Cyclones.

The Jayhawks came out firing, building a commanding lead in the first half thanks to strong defensive pressure and efficient scoring. By halftime, Kansas had already established control, leading comfortably and forcing Iowa State into tough shots and turnovers. Tre White led the offensive charge for Kansas, pouring in 19 points, while potential #1 Draft Pick Darryn Peterson added another 16, consistently attacking the rim and sparking transition offense.

As for Iowa State- it simply wasn’t their night. The Cyclones, one of the nation’s top 3 point shooting units (40.8%, #2 NCAA) were held to a season low 33.3% from beyond the arc tonight. That’s the unfortunate reality for teams so heavily reliant on true three-point shooting: sometime’s shots just don’t fall how you want.
Iowa State now loses 8 consecutive trips to Allen Fieldhouse, with their last win coming in 2017. Tonight was a huge statement win for Bill Self’s squad as Kansas still clings to NCAA Tournament hopes.
