BOCA RATON – All of the scoring action came in the second half of tonight’s (May 8) Class 2A – Region 3 title game between Seminole Ridge and Spanish River.

As the two flagship flag football programs played for the right to earn a 2A State Final Four spot, it ultimately came down to a few plays.

One of them happened at the 6:00 mark of the third quarter, when Lady Hawks senior quarterback Jaida Salguero (2023) fired off a precise end-zone pass to wide receiver Lola Agosta (2025). This play gave them a 6-0 lead over the Lady Sharks.

Near the end of the third quarter, Spanish River was driving toward a score of its own until Seminole Ridge’s Chelsea Nedoroscik (2023) caught one of her two interceptions to keep the 6-0 lead intact.

And at the 8:27 mark of the fourth, we got an insurance touchdown pass from Salguero to Agosta – second end-zone connection of the night – to make it 12-0 in favor of Seminole Ridge.

A one-point conversion pass from Salguero to Angelina Sanchez (2024) made it a 13-0 lead for Seminole Ridge.

Spanish River did not give up.

Later in the fourth, quarterback Gianna Pacitti (2023) was on fire as she connected with several of her receivers en route to the end zone. She would eventually get there on a designed touchdown run with 3:37 left, which cut the Seminole Ridge lead to 13-6.

The final play that changed the scoreboard would be a one-point conversion pass from Pacitti to athlete Littiana Dasilva (2025). This play cut the Seminole Ridge lead to 13-7.

This score held up all the way to the final buzzer as the Seminole Ridge made a game-sealing fourth down stop with less than two minutes remaining.

After sixth-seeded Seminole Ridge (14-3) celebrated its 13-7 road win over fourth-seeded Spanish River (16-5 final record), head coach Scott O’Hara spoke on how his team stayed poised in key moments that allowed for the scoring opportunities to happen.

You can listen to the entire interview below.

With the win, Seminole Ridge moves on to the Class 2A State Final Four for the second time in three years.
