DELRAY BEACH, FL – After a very slow three quarters and a two point lead, Atlantic fired up a late 4th quarter rally to win the game.

Atlantic got off to a quick start when Quarterback Lincoln Graf hit a QB sneak into the endzone for a touchdown, Atlantic went with the aggressive strategy and knocked in a two point conversion giving the Eagles an 8-0 lead. Atlantic would find the endzone again when Lincoln Graf would do the QB sneak again and earn his second rushing touchdown of the game. However, the shutout lead wouldn’t last long as Graf threw an interception to the North Miami Beach defense and would result in a pick-six. Atlantic’s defense would block the extra point. Atlantic would have a 15-6 lead heading into halftime.

North Miami Beach would get hot in the 3rd quarter, as their receiver would make a beautiful one handed catch to bring the Chargers within two points of Atlantic.

What looked to be a close game turned into an absolute 4th quarter rally for the Eagles. Starting with a safety from the defense to give Atlantic a 17-13 lead. Backup QB Mark Hanniford would extend that lead by airing it out to Marlin Huff to extend the lead 23-13. Lincoln Graf would come back into the game later in the quarter to hit Maj James in the endzone to further extend the lead 30-13. In the dying seconds of the game, North Miami Beach was in the redzone looking to cushion the scoreboard only for CB Ron Council to intercept the ball in the endzone and bring it back all the way for a pick-six as time expired on the clock, ending the game 36-13.

We spoke with Atlantic Head Coach Murray after the game to gather his thoughts from the game.

Atlantic stays home next week as they look to continue their undefeated run against Boca High next Thursday night.
