With another football season looming over the LSU Tigers, this is the chance to redeem itself after a 9-4 season.

Earlier this week, the Associated Press released the first look into the College Football Power rankings. After missing the Top-10 ranking last season, the Tigers came back in slid into a ninth rank (#9).

The Tigers aren’t unfamiliar with the Associated Press pre-season rankings, always striving to be in the top and stay there. This season will have to be better for the Tiger defense as well as the program as a whole under the coach of Brian Kelley.

In the Top-10, the SEC has three other teams ahead of them, sitting at number one is University of Texas, one the newcomers to the SEC. Then the teams as follows, Georgia at five and Alabama sitting just above LSU at eight.

Although there are three other SEC schools, LSU will only see one of those schools during the conference play schedule and that team being Alabama.

With fall camp well under way in the Bayou, this preseason poll has now put extra motivation into the team to keep themselves at the top of that list every week.
